Detroit Gay Travel Etiquette

Gay traveling is a all about having fun. Observing travel etiquette will endear you to your fellow travelers. Make sure you are considerate and helpful. If you are not about the etiquette rules read up a travel manual that airlines put out. Railways too have their rules. Be composed and collected no matter how excited you are about the journey. And if there are noisy children close to your grit your teeth, if you will, but be tolerant till the journey is over. Follow rules about passports and visa and luggage. Keep your documents ready for inspection and don't hold up the queue. Your cabin luggage must go into the over head hold. See that you don't stuff an over-sized bag into it. Once you are settled, try to be unobtrusive.

Don't squirm and intrude into your neighbor's seat. If you belong to a group of Detroit gay travelers, make sure the fun and merriment does not intrude on the space your co passengers occupy. Do not carry strong smelling stuff in your baggage. The perfume you use should not be strong. Leave the washroom clean after you have used it. Do not litter the plane. Make sure you waste no food. Be polite to the staff and make your requests in a soft voice. Do not tilt your seat if the person at the back has long legs and requests you to sit up. Do not carry prohibited things on board. Make polite conversation if someone talks to you.

Do not be argumentative or loud in anyway. If you are traveling to a foreign land, make sure you learn a few words in their language; you can win over people easily if you can wish them in their language. It indicates that you want to know them better and you have taken the trouble of familiarizing yourself with the Detroit culture.

Read up a little about local customs so that you do not say anything offensive or do anything offensive. If you are traveling with a partner, don't be too demonstrative in public. Some countries are conservative in outlook and frown on such behavior. If you are at a business meeting be attentive to what is happening around. Show interest in what is happening around you.

Be generous in greeting people when introduced to them. Make it a point to remember names and address people by their names in Detroit. Observe the business etiquettes. Do not aggressive even if you belong to a strong country. Take notes at meetings so that you can refer to them when the meeting is over. Accept food when it is offered to you. If you want to refuse, be subtle about it so that no one if offended. Eat at least a little of what is proffered. Many societies consider it an insult when food is refused by a guest. If it is not called for, make no mention of your alternative lifestyle. Several countries have a strong anti-gay bias. Do not call unnecessary attention to yourself. It's okay to be a natural fit in your hotel confines but it may still be frowned upon when in public, so be judicious about embracing in public.
